Successful candidates will apply firm practices to perform various types of engagements, including tax return
preparations. Junior Accountants will participate in a variety of client engagements. The role will focus on candidates who aspire to be CPAs and have a keen interest to expand technical knowledge in public accounting practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Preparation of year-end working paper files and financial statements in compilation engagements
Perform bookkeeping function as required
Preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns, and other types of returns as required
Assisting senior staff members and managers in larger projects such as review and audit engagements
Engage with clients, as needed, to gather required information to complete assigned tasks
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Completion of a university degree in accounting
Basic technical knowledge of accounting, tax and auditing
Attention to detail
Experience in CaseWare and Tax-prep an asset
A desire to learn, and a desire to provide outstanding client service
Previous co-op experience in public accounting an asset
